Additive manufacturing techniques offer the potential to fabricate organized tissue constructs to repair or replace damaged or diseased human tissues and organs. The fundamental concept underlying tissue engineering is to combine a scaffold or matrix, with living cells, and/or biologically active molecules to form a tissue engineering construct (TEC) to promote the repair and/or regeneration of tissues. AM technology will allow users to fabricate objects regarding both personalized shape and cellular structure development.
