Alexandra Alves is a researcher at the Centre for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development (CDRsp). In 2017, she obtained her MSc in Biomedical Engineering from the Faculty of Science and Technology of Nova University of Lisbon, with the dissertation “Polymeric Conductive Scaffolds for Spinal Cord Regeneration”. From the work she developed, she began her research in the application of electrical stimulation of conductive polymers for tissue engineering, and the possibilities that arise from nanofibers, namely drug delivery, wound dressing and antimicrobial . Her main research areas and interests are intrinsically conductive polymers, electrospinning, additive manufacturing, chemistry and biomedical applications. She is integrated in the TOOLING 4G – Advanced Tools for Smart Manufacturing project.
