Rui B. Ruben
Rui B. Ruben is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department, at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (PIL), since 2001. Rui is also member of the Scientific and Technical Council at School of Technology and Management, Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, since July 2015. He was Head of Mechanical Engineering Department at School of Technology and Management, Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, from April 2014 to April 2016. Rui Ruben was also principal researcher of “software development for arthroplasty preparation” project.
Rui B. Ruben has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from IST, Technical University of Lisbon, a MSc from IST, Technical University of Lisbon, and a first degree in Mechanical Engineering also from the IST, Technical University of Lisbon.
Rui B. Ruben has co-edited three books, authored and co-authored more than 60 papers published in books, international journals, and conferences proceedings. Just considering the International Journals papers, Rui B. Ruben has a Scopus 4 h-index.
Rui B. Ruben was awarded with the Young Researcher award, Prof. João Martins, in 2011.
Rui B. Ruben PhD student Diogo Almeida, finished the PhD in February 2017, with the thesis “A Total Hip Replacement Toolbox: From CT-Scan to Patient-Specific FE Analysis”. This was a joint supervision between University of Lisbon and University of Ghent.
