Short Bio

Rúben Pereira received his B.Sc. in Biomechanics by the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria in 2009 and the Master degree in Engineering Design and Product Development by the same Institution, with a thesis entitled “Preparation and characterization of films based on natural materials for tissue engineering and drug delivery applications”. Since June 2010, he is research fellow at the Center for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development. His main research interests include Tissue Engineering, Biomaterials and Biofabrication. Currently, he is working in the development of novel natural-based biomaterials for wound healing applications and in situ biofabrication strategies for tissue regeneration.
