Emilia Kuczynska received Engineering degree of Biomedical Engineering (specialization: Prosthesis, orthosis and biomedical materials) from the Bialystok University of Technology. She is Master in Biomedical Engineering (specialization: IT in Medicine) from the Bialystok University of Technology. She attended a course Healthcare Information Systems Management at Polytechnic Institute of Leiria. Her current research interests include damage of apples.

Her current research interests include damage of apples.

Rui Rijo – | ESTG-IPLeiria, Portugal
Rui Rijo is Professor of Computer Science at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria. He received his Phd in Computer Science from the Trás-os-Montes University and his Engineering degree from Instituto Superior Técnico (Technical University of Lisbon). He has more than ten years of experience as senior information systems consultant in, among others countries, Tokyo (Japan), Macau (China), Hong-Kong (China), São Paulo (Brazil), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Madrid (Spain), Amsterdam (Holland), and Lisbon (Portugal). He was the founder of three technological start-ups. His publications include book chapters and papers in refereed national and international conferences and journals. He is associate editor of the International Journal of Web Portals and editor of the International Journal of E-Health and Medical Communications. He was the coordinator of the Healthcare Informatics course and currently is the coordinator of the Master on Healthcare Information Systems Management. His current research interests include health information systems, patient relationship management, serious games and project management.

Carlos Oliveira Augusto é bacharel e licenciado em Engenharia Civil pelo Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa, licenciado em Gestão de Empresas pelo Instituto Superior de Estudos Financeiros e Fiscais, pós-graduado e mestre em “Planeamento e Construção Sustentável” pela Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa, além de pós-graduações nas áreas do Marketing e do Empreendedorismo. Atualmente, é doutorando do International Doctoral Programme in Sustainable Built Environment da Universidade do Minho. Desenvolve atividade de Investigador desde 2007 no CITAD – Centro de Investigação em Território, Arquitetura e Design (Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa) e, mais recentemente, no CDRSP – Centro para o Desenvolvimento Rápido e Sustentável do Produto (Instituto Politécnico de Leiria), com vista à aplicação da metodologia de Avaliação de Ciclo de Vida (Lyfe-Cycle Assessment), no contexto da Construção Sustentável. Desenvolve com regularidade atividade de palestrante convidado em instituições de ensino superior e em conferências e congressos nacionais e internacionais da área. É autor de um livro publicado com o patrocínio da FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, e de vários artigos em publicações nacionais e proceedings de Congressos Internacionais. Com cerca de três décadas de experiência profissional, maioritariamente em empresas industriais do setor da construção, é atualmente o CEO da FACTOR4Sustainability®, uma empresa que desenvolve e comercializa serviços tendo como paradigma o conceito de Desenvolvimento Sustentável na vertente ambiental, social e económica.

Nuno Fonseca – Researcher | ESTG-IPLeiria, Portugal
Nuno Fonseca is the creator of “Sound Particles” software, a 3D CGI-like software for audio, capable of handling thousands of sounds over a virtual 3D space. With a PhD in computer engineering, he is an assistant professor at ESTG/Instituto Politécnico de Leiria (head of the new “Digital Games and Multimedia” undergraduate course), and he is also an invited professor at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (IPLisboa). Author of the book “Introdução à Engenharia de Som” (Introduction to sound engineering) and co-author of the book “Desenvolvimento em iOS” (iOS development). He is a member of the Audio Engineering Society technical committee on “Sound for Digital Cinema and Television” and “Spatial Audio”, member of the board of editors of the journal of the “Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers”, associate member of Cinema Audio Society, and affiliate member of Motion Picture Sound Editors. Currently, his software was already used on several movies (e.g. remake of Poltergeist) and is under tests in all major “Hollywood” studios, including Skywalker Sound (Disney), Universal, Warner Bros, Technicolor (Paramount Pictures), Sony Pictures, Fox.

Tatiana Patricio – Researcher | Institute of Science and Technology for Ceramics, Faenza, Italy,
Tatiana Patrício é licenciada em Biomecânica e mestre em “Engenharia da Concepção e Desevolvimento do Produto”, ambos adquiridos na “Escola Superior de Gestão e Tecnologia de Leiria”. De 2009 a início do ano 2014 desenvolveu actividade de investigação no Centro para o Desenvolvimento Rápido e Sustentado do Produto, na área dos biomateriais, engenharia de tecidos e biofabricação, bem como participou e elaborou candidaturas para projectos nacionais. Em Março de 2014, recebeu uma bolsa de investigação de doutoramento Marie Curie, em “Development of superparamagnetic scaffolds for bone Tissue Engineering” no âmbito do projecto europeu, Bioinspire Bone Regeneration, G.A.Nº607051. Neste sentido, as suas actividades de investigação tem vindo a ser realizadas no grupo “Bioceramics and Bio-hybrid Composites” do “CNR – Institute of Science and Technology for Ceramics, Italy”. É autora ou co-autora de 1 livro, 4 capítulos de livro, 6 artigos em revistas internacionais, 7 artigos em proceedings, 1 PPP e 1 MUT.
